Stand Up Elijah!

In 1994, when Robin Mark wrote the famous song “Days of Elijah”, Robin says this song was birthed on the state of the world at that time. Robin was disturbed so much especially when he saw 1 million people massacred in the ethnic crisis in Rwanda.

It was then that Robin began to ask God if He was in control and God began to speak to him. Robin says, “I felt in my spirit that He was very much in control and that the days we were living in were special times when He would require Christians to be filled with integrity and to stand up for Him just like Elijah did, particularly with the prophets of Baal…These are 'Elijah' days".

But that was back in 1994. Has the world changed in the last 26 years?

Yes, it has indeed! And changed so drastically that the satanically planned pandemic, the evil and rebellion in every strata of our society has become horrid, and almost unbearable. Justice has been diabolically twisted out of the poor and downtrodden, and our world has become devoid of value systems which are corrupted to the hilt. The Global Elite are about to take over by killing and control. The 1994 massacre in Rwanda looks like a ‘girl scout’ when compared to today.

I would say again. These are Elijah days!

There are three things I would like to share about Elijah, especially to Community of Hope.

Firstly, Elijah was born at a time when his world had turned away from Jehovah, and the entire system of worship and commitment was subject to the Devil. Naboth’s vineyard was a fascist move over the people.

You and I have been born into this society. We know what’s going on. Elections have been won by fraud and depravity has degenerated us into different beings altogether. World leaders are prepared to destroy each other’s nations at the click of the mouse.

The church of today needs to take a stand. Prophetic words of power need to be spoken. And we need to take a strong position on what we believe.

Secondly, Elijah was a man of prayer. See James 5:17,18. Although he was a man just like us, his prayer changed things around his nation and brought kings subject to the power and authority of God Himself.

I know from my heart today, that we desperately need men of prayer that can stop nations and speak to leaders.

Finally, Elijah was a man who was able to mentor Elisha and many other prophets. He was able to pass on his mantle of authority and power to double the impact of his anointing and destroy the face of the enemy. This brought demonic powers to naught and set free the rulership of God.

Do we need ‘Elijahs’ today?

Of course, we do. Definitely we do. Without a doubt we do!

It is time for the church in every nation to rise up. It is time the church takes a stand on righteousness and integrity. It is time the church needs to become a praying people who can change the atmosphere of nations. Who can stand in the gap as it were and intercede for our leaders? It is also time to train, equip and prepare this new generation that is rising up in our midst today.

Yes, these are indeed the days of Elijah. May the ‘spirit’ of Elijah cause you to be challenged and take a stand to dare the enemy and subdue his powers by the hand of God.

Elijah…please stand up!
